Holly Cullen-Davies has a very varied career as a pianist, singer, teacher and curator. Alongside being a Suzuki piano teacher she runs The Kids’ Concert Company putting on concerts for 7 to 11 year olds to inspire them to practice their instruments. This was given funding by Arts Council England in 2018 to give concerts in London Schools. They also have upcoming performances in Kent, Homerton and The Ribble Valley Piano Festival in Lancashire.
As a pianist Holly started out with the wonderful Kasia Borowiak age 6. Later she studied at the CNR de Lyon, The Royal Northern college of music and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She has performed all over Britain and on P&O Cruises touring the Mediterranean. She has made a CD of solo piano music aimed particularly at the young. She regularly performs with violinist Flora Curzon, pianist Yshani Perinpanayagam and percussionist Bex Burch and her repertoire ranges from Bach to Rachmaninov, Chick Corea and Nina Simone. She is still quietly nurturing her hidden desire to be a jazz pianist!
Holly also sings in a family vocal trio with her mum and sister called Davies & Daughters singing arrangements of pop by The Beatles, The Andrews Sisters and the Beach Boys through to folk songs from the British Isles, Serbia, Georgia and South Africa. When pregnant with her second child she set up two choirs for parents to bring their babies to teaching songs from around the world in harmony.
